Planning Your Own Media Text

Over the next half term you are going to be creating your own media text- a magazine advert. Before you begin production work on this you will explore the advertising industry and get a detailed understanding of how advertising works and what the principles are to making an effective advert.

In order to help you focus your work you should start by deciding what product you are going to advertise and who your target audience are:

1. Brainstorm all of the products which you are interested in buying, and why someone would like to have that product

2. Make a list of your target audience details, it should include:
· Age
· Gender
· Income group (A,B,C1,C2,D,E)
· Interests
· Media Interests
· Why they would want to buy your product
· Anything else which you think might be helpful when planning your advert…
